Well after searching hi and low for an ideal impala as been recommended they were gd for horses with big shoulders etc, I bought one unseen and obviously untried  Anyway long story short it won't fit her  keeps lifting up at the back and she was not a happy girl :(
So back to the drawing board so to speak....
Very hard to find saddles to try nr me
Her current saddles are an ideal jessica dressage saddle and kent & master cob saddle, I am trying to replace the cob saddle with a more jump style as can't really put stirrups much and when I do there's not alot of saddle left to support my leg although we managed to jump in it so far but am thinking I would feel more confident with more infront of my knee :o
Just wanted abit of a moan/rant about awkward to fit horses and having now sell gorgeous saddle I just bought, I guess lesson learnt there to try before buying :)

Equipe expression or synergy. I've got a MW one which fits everything I have had it on, and Loops has big shoulders and "barrell" and it fits perfectly. They're expensive but our yard has 5very different horses all with this saddle in no more than 1cm width fittings difference.

does your ideal jessica dressage saddle fit her? As I had this and an equipe expression for jumping which both fit the same horse, so theoretically shouldn't be a too dissimilar fit... hopefully! ;) Saddles can be so annoying to get right, good luck!

The jessica did lift at the back but was fixed by adjusting flocking, and my mare goes fine in it.
It's not the tree size in the impala which is a problem as saddle sits level just when she moves saddle is moving and mare was not happy with it. Saddler seemed to think her shoulders were making saddle move.
Don't suppose anyone has an equipe I could try on her ;)

I had an Albion style which I think is similar to a k2. My mare also wears an ideal Jessica. I'm selling my Albion so pm me if you're interested it's 17.5" med.

Can u set up appts with few diff saddle fitters in ure area & just try wot they've got? Would give u an idea of what fits horse or what 2 definitely avoid!
I found my wee horse with bug shoulders didn't seem 2 like the really forward cut jump saddles the 2 I had being k2 & patriot (among other probs I had with them!)
Hes bn much happier in borrowed K&M GP for 6wks & as of 2day I finally have my Black Country jump saddle! So much comfier than the others tho not as forward cut jumped few x-poles trying it 2day & as horse insisted on jumping everything from stride out it appears he likes it ;)

Bit reluctant to try loads of saddlers due to more expense of call out fees.
I have found a prestige but can't try it unless I box her to theres (fair enough) also found a kent and master jump and a k2 all nr same place roughly.
Ugh so hard to know what to do :(

My K2 jump fits one of my horses very well. He is a W-XW fitting, big shoulder and front end, some wither but with a barrel body. Doesn't move at all.

I struggled with him as everything else I tried moved at the back / slipped round etc or was too restrictive at the front.

Also due to more people selling on ebay etc saddlers are lacking secondhand ones to try :(
Thanks Ihatework will look into trying a k2 :)

Am currently trying to find a K2 but it helps when people who advertise them answer their emails:rolleyes: :)

Was that aimed at me or do I just have a naturally guilty conscience?! If it was me, apologies, pm and I will give you the details of my saddle!

Lol you must just have a guilty conscience Luci07 unless you're also based in Somerset :) contacted someone with one advertised nr me although have received a sort of response now :)

If its lifting cos tree is too curvy I have a very flat treed jeffries elite for sale, it's 18" and MW- pm me if of interest

Hi Sare thanks for letting me know but saddler has said max she can take is 17.5 :) although has said 17.5 k2 may be too big

I have an Albion Legend 5000 for sale. Fits my lad who has big shoulders and high withers, 17.0 inch seat. PM me if you like. Good luck finding a saddle, know how much of a nightmare it is to find something that fits a tricky to fit horse!

Hi eventer96 my horse doesn't have much wither, she needs a m/w but I need to try before buying and think you're probably abit far from me :)

Might be worth your while ordering a few from Saddlesdirect and paying the collection fee, could well work out cheaper than paying for lots of saddlers call outs and help narrow things down. Rideaway do a similar thing too where you can order by post, ride in the saddle and then they only charge £5.90 to pick the saddle up if it's no good (I've got three bates dressage saddles on their way to me right now).

How much do saddlesdirect cost to return them, i'm probably abit simply but got abit confused :o
I have a 17 inch k2 nr me but seller seems reluctant for me to try :(
