Jump saddles for a flat backed Zangersheide

I'm on the hunt for a jump saddle that will suit both me and my horse (a minefield I know). I've always liked the equipes but am unsure of whether they will suit my horse. He has a flat back so would suit something with a flatter tree with angled rails but the saddles I have tried (ideal impala, frank baines evolution & gfs series 1 jump) don't feel right for me. I want the saddle to be right for both me and the horse before I fork out for a saddle. Does anyone have any suggestions? I prefer something close contact at the leg with a seat that I can really feel my horse through. Thanks in advance! :)
 
When did Zangerscheide become a breed? KWPN, I take it.:p

I had a KWPN from the Zangerscheide Stud. She was also quite flat backed. I found the best saddle (didn't get on with Ideal or GFS either), was a Lemetex Vision but I don't know if you can find one these days as they are not made in Europe any more.
 
I have a very flat backed but high withered ISH and have just bought an ideal gazelle, the panels are a lot wider (as is the seat) and I love it, not sure I would call it very close contact though. Whilst trying different saddles the optimum performance fit him really well too, but I preferred the ideal. Good luck finding one to suit you both :)
 
My lad is flat backed too,had saddler out last night, and the equipes fitted great. She tried 3 different ones, and he went best in the carbon tree one . He seemed to really like it.
 
not sure what your budget is but I am having the same problem with my ID x TB mare (built like a smaller ID) & the saddle fitter tried a bliss loxley on her & it was perfect, definitely works for the flatter backed horses sadly it was outside my budget, although i was tempted to blow it as it was such a beautiful jump saddle, was a close contact monoflap so gave a good feeling. I tried the albion K2 & felt like i was riding a 16.2 rather than her 16hh just because of how chunky it was !
 
If you like close contact I would try a monoflap, I think Amerigo do several different tree shapes, but they , like others, are very expensive new. Prestige saddle can be fitted with different panels , many of the standard ones are more suitable for deeper backed horses. I would speak to a fitter who has several makes, they are in a better position to advise as they will see the horse. Good luck, you will know when you find the right one.
 
jump jet , I ride a horse from the same stud as yours in a Solution Smart, very comfortably too. Another one to add to your list. : )
 
Most European saddles will have upright not angled rails, no matter how flat the tree or panel. You should consider looking at saddles designed specially for wider horses, natives etc.
