Hey! Long time lurker here...

I have just ordered 2 new jumps from Jump4joy having really enjoyed using them at previous yards... But I've been wondering what people's experiances are with them?

Has anyone else bought anything from them, and how long did you have to wait for delivery as a timescale is ominously left out of all of their emails!

How well did they last for you? That kind of thing :)

Oh fantastic, hopefully they won't be the wait won't be too long! I will definately take photos when they arrive :) Pony boy needs to get his showjumping head on now!!

I have a set of jumps from them. Cant remember how long they took to deliver as it was yonks ago but really rate the jumps as a whole. Only disappointments - I bought the lightweight plastic poles (my own fault) and they are not very practical for training; fall off at the lightest tap, blow down in the wind easily etc. I now also have plain wooden pole I use alongside them. secondly their cups are a PITA I have the black interchangeable ones and unless the design has changed they are a pig to get the cup back onto the back slot once its been forced out (on most of them some are easier than others). They do however work and come away if you hit the fence hard. But as a whole for home use I think your better off just buying the standard metal/plastic slot cups. Great looking jumps though and wings are absolutely fab :). They are lasting well too owned for 4+yrs now.

My YO had a set for Christmas from her partner. They are really nice and look lovely, but as someone else mentioned, they are not great for training a youngster, the poles fall too easily. Daughter's instructor asked if we had any heavy wooden poles, but since getting these new jumps the YO gave all the old jumps to her nephew. Typical!

I have some stands ten years old now still great ,they are red it has faded a little they have lived outside the whole time. The new ones have different cups to mine so can't comment on those . Last year I bought a water tray it arrived in advance of the delivery date no hassle to deal with them either time.

Oh righhttt I've ordered the practise poles... Do you think it would be a good idea to change my order? Was only made yesterday so hopefully not too late... My horse is not a youngster but he can drop a leg sometimes and it's windy where we live, don't like the idea of poles falling off in the wind! Are the competition poles plastic outside and wooden inside or just painted wood? Thanks for all the info guys :)

I've had my jumps for them for nearly 10 years now and they are great. The company was lovely when I bought them.

The delivery driver was friendly and unloaded down the track in the lane where I wanted them, rather than on my drive where it was easy for them.

Not one item has broken, and I have the lighter practice poles. The only problem is that the fillers have really faded now and are much less scary(apparently rubber arenas make it worse for some reason?). Anyway they said I could buy just the decals to put over the top for a very reasonable price, which I must get around to. I also use them with some cheap and cheerful wooden poles I bought from the local Agricultural depot.

I believe the competition poles are wood covered with plastic.

My friend has a load of them. I think they're awful things! They have faded to a light pink from red (yes they are in rubber) and blow down too easily, even the heavier ones. She has a few XC ones, which are even worse. My friend's eventer managed to completely flatten one - which may seem safe, but you don't want a horse coming into a XC fence thinking they knock down! The only things I like are the triangular block things - useful for making different fences easily, and a great mounting block!

I have some old wooden wings and poles that have done over 15 years - they live out and just get creosoted once every couple of years.

Sorry to rain on your parade - seems like most people love them, I must be old fashioned!

I had them at my old yard but now I've moved I'm stuck with old wooden jumps :( I really miss them as they were so much easier to move around and a lot easier to knock down if the horse falls. They faded slightly but they have been there years. With the practise poles if you find them too light you can take the caps off the end and put water or sand in to make them heavier xx

being honest, yes in your shoes I would ring up and swap :( sorry, just my personal experience :o. You could fill them with sand/water but my practice poles already bow a little in the middle now when up as straight bars so not sure how well they would cope with sand/ water filling. They aren't disastrous by any means, but if I could go back in time I would pay out the extra and have the heavier poles. hope that helps a little :o :).

as part of a riding club order we got the heaviest poles (afilliated weight or something) they are mega heavy and a complete pain from the point of view of building a complete course, I would say they are heavier than standard wooden poles. If we had realised we'd have gone for the standard weight poles.

Fab customer service though, they were very helpful :-)

Just an update if anyone is interested!

- Really lovely jumps to use, easy to move around despite having gone for the competition poles in the end (thanks for the advice :) )

- The competition poles are heavy enough for horse to pick his feet up after he knocks them once, but not so heavy they are awful to move. They don't move in the wind and they look very smart.

- I also later bought some of the practise poles which are very light but again don't seem to blow off, however I would not use them as top poles or trotting poles as they would very easily be knocked.

- The wings are also very smart and very easy to move around due to being light. Despite being light I've not found them flimsy or easy to push or blow over. I find the measurements next to the cup holes very helpful as well!

- Colours look fantastic at the moment, very bright, better looking than on the website I think.

- Good customer service, I even went back again and bought more poles and they arrived very quickly upon my request (within a week), the people were very accommodating.

- Would definately buy more jumps from them should the need arise :)
