Guys,

Can anyone recommend a trainer for jumpcross based in the Hampshire/Surrey area? Or do I use an event trainer?

Am a bit gutted that nearest option for me to compete is East Sussex which is bleeding miles away - kinda hoping some of the local xc centres take it on.

Anyway, recommendations appreciated.

Sorry, no help on trainer at all but would just like to add- why aren't there more jumpcross venues??? It looks such good fun and I would love to give it a try but my nearest venue is over 2hrs away :( Virtually everyone I talk to about it agree they would give it a go so I don't understand why more venues don't offer it???

I agree 100%. I live on the Hampshire/Surrey border and my nearest venue is in Eastbourne which is probably a 2 week journey in my lorry!

I did see that JumpCrossUK were advertising in this weeks H&H for additional franchisees (sp!) so hopefully more existing venues will pick up and host some events. I showjump but have always wanted to go XC, just dont have the balls so this is a brilliant middle ground for me and a perfect way to compete my headstrong mare!

Fingers xed. Cant work out how to get started though? Also whether I need an eventing saddle or normal SJ saddle? What do people tend to use?

Hear, hear!

They set up a course very local to me about ten years ago, but before I had the chance to go round, it closed down. As far as I can tell, there was a falling out between JC and the landowner which cost JC a fair bit. Shame :(
