Today i jumped my first 1m 20 course on a really good horse. Jesus. Jump one was good, stylish almost, jump two, ok, change of rein to jump 3a and b. First element took a long one, ineffective riding meant a short extra stride to the second element, most untidy. Jump 4 a big oxer, bit of a flyer, jump 5 a big upright, planks, got in too close, untidy but left it standing. Jump 6, huge paralell, right old FU, too close and then wrong for 7. Jump 8, on the opposite rien, a triple bar, not enough committment by me and certainly not enough impulsion so landed on it. Hideous. Managed to get it toghether for the last, a big spread, just kept my leg on and prayed. Learnt a hell of a lot. God, now I know just how hard it is. Seems so easy at 1m and i was on a genuine, honest horse. My admiration to you all that do this all the time. I can only wish!

Wooo well done for getting round :D i would never have the guts to do that, well unless i was on a schoolmaster haha im sure u'll do better next time :)

I've done 1m20/1m30 a couple of times on a schoolmaster, and definitely not a full course - fwiw I think you did very well if you're used to jumping 1m. It certainly gets different after about 1m05 doesn't it?!! I always get stuffed on the landing, then struggle to pick the horse up enough for the next jump lol!

Well Done You :D

To make you feel better I will show you picutres of me jumping 90cm, now thats embarrasing!

Well done! Lol, I've done quite a few 1.20's now BSJA but still find them quite terrifying! I have never had a schoolmaster, me and my horse got to that height together which is even more scary somehow - you'll learn heaps from a pro horse. I think you do get used to the height the more you do it though, I look at 1.10m and think its tiny nowadays whereas before it was huge.
