Who do you recommend in the Hampshire area (I'm in Odiham) for jumping and dressage lessons? In the past I have had dressage lessons with Tracey Lawson and James Burtwell, both of whom I enjoyed being taught by. No idea about jumping instructors though. Any tips appreciated.

For dressage - Sara Jane Lanning and/or Yvonne Nailor - both in Medstead, or maybe Matt Hicks (nearer Basingstoke)

For jumping - Keith Doyle in Yately

Sara Jane Lanning is brilliant - increased my scores by 5% after 2 sessions.
Stephen Mercer for jumping. in four marks

Heather Ashley at Woodington Training in Wellow (although may be too far south west for you) for dressage. Fab, very patient, and a list 2a judge.

Paul Crago for showjumping & his wife Karen for dressage, based in Pangbourne, can highly recommend both.

Another vote here, haven't used them personally but have only heard good things. Paul was also recommended by British Showjumping for a friends daughter to have lessons.

Oh same area as me. Some good suggestions above although one of the showjumping trainers mentioned didn't suit me at all. It's all so personal though isn't it? My confidence is very fragile and so i need a lot of ...errmmm.."constructive" criticism ;). Showjumping? Corinne Bracken for me every time. She manages to be direct but constructive and I always come out of her clinics feeling I have learnt something (and more importantly smiling). She does regular clinics at Parwood - 25 mins drive from Odiham.

I use a lady called Ngaire for dressage ( also used her for jumping but I have chosen to focus on dressage for now ).
She is fantastic and has helped me and Sally no end, firstly my confidence and now level of training.
I have actually just realised I dont know her surname but I think if you came across a lady called Ngaire it would most likely be her ( cant imagine there are too many people with the name as it is unusual )

Mark Corbett in Basingstoke/Tadley for jumping - he is a BE UKCC level 3 coach and is excellent. He teaches at home or will come to you. He also teaches at Parwood (SJ and xc) and offers regular xc clinics elsewhere (Boomerang/Tweseldown etc).

Enjoy your lessons whoever you decide to go to :D

Wow - thank you everyone; that's a good selection of people to try some lessons with. I'll let you know how I get on. Out of curiosity do most people prefer to have lessons with a few different instructors or do you stick with one person?
