Can anyone recommend a good jumping or close contact saddle for SJ & XC. Would like something that is adjustable and as lightweight as possible?

Have been hearing a lot of good things about the wow saddles (not sure how light they are)...

Thanks!

You really need to try as many as possible. Most saddles are adjustable now by their manufacterer, which is a bonus ;) Anything flocked (such as the Albion Kontact Lite) will have scope for adjustment by a saddler. Really lightweight you are looking at the Barnsby Xtreem, which is the lightest out there, or prestige are also very light, and have a tree which is adjustable.

Wows can be fab, but are only as good as the fitter you get. They are also quite heavy!!

Just had a quick look at the Barnsby, wow they are very light!!! lighter than the wintec gp that i currently ride him in!!!

Have a look at Classic Saddlery's range. I cannot recommend them enough - I have always been a fan of Albion, Whitaker and Barnsby, but when I had my mare fitted, the CS saddle came out far on top. They're very affordable in comparison to the 'big names', too.

I have the Bavarian:

Mine is 5 years old now, and I love it to bits. I dont think I'd ever get anything other than a CS now!

Yep they are very very light. I love mine, but they arent cheap! You will find there are quite a few saddles out there that are lighter than the wintecs ;)

I have a Bates jumping saddle. This has an adjustable gullet and I love it. Probably not the lightest on the market but it's really comfortable!!

I actually can't find anywhere that sells the Barnsby xtreem online....
I am in herts and according to the Barnsby website they don't cover this area!

I have a Kent and Masters jump saddle which is adjustable and really nice to ride in. Might not be as lightweight or close contact as you want though.

Brown, 17 or 17.5" (cant remember off the top of my head!) and Medium :)

hmmmm, i'm riding in a 17 wintec at the mo and i feel its too small so would need to be 17.5. His wintec is a medium at the moment but am getting saddler out to check it anyway so will have a better idea then! Would prefer black though as have black bridles!

How much would you be looking for it?

I normally ride in 17.5" (am 5'7 and a size 12) and it's fine, so I think it measures 17.5. It would feel VERY different to your wintec as it is a lot more forward cut, and has very little knee roll... as well as being single flap. They retail at 2k now, so I will be advertising it at £900, it is about 1yr old.
