Any tips? I decided to introduce fillers for the first time tonight and our session was very hit and miss. She refused some, she ran out at some and when she did jump I got left behind a few times because I wasn't expecting it so the poor thing got jabbed in the mouth. We did manage to end on a few good jumps but wanted to know if anyone has any tips for next time?

start with the fillers at the outside of the jump and gradually bring them in untill they meet.

You could try fillers at a slight angle to draw her in like a kind of chanel. so you have pole with two fillers at slight angle and you can move them in. This helped my boy alot. Doesnt even look now.

Hope this was some help, and it made sense

Be confident and ride like there is no filler.................If you look at the filler, so will she!!

Good advise above re: using them as wings and then bringing them in to meet in the middle. Finally, practise, practise, practise, the more you do the more confident she will get.

Ditto to having them wide and moving them in gradually. However, another great thing to do is loose jump over them, that way she can look and do awkward jumps as much as she wants. Also, invest in a neck strap. The last thing you want is something unavoidable (like catching in the mouth which can happen with spooky horses) making them associate doing the right thing with something negative. Then, shoulders back and leg on!!!!!!!!
