This is becoming a constant worry as it's becoming more and more frequent.
The yard I am at has very little grass and low fencing and I am unable to put up electric.
It started when she was left alone in the field she just popped the fence and walked down to her stable. Now everytime she is alone she does this --- apart from in the spring when there is grass! I moved her to the field next door which has horses staying out later but the new thing she has got me worrying about it jumping over into old field, the fence is higher but oftern gets broken so is literally 2ft3 and she just steps over it and goes into old field. This is obviously not so bad but it really is a constant worry. It's not that she's a real stable gal, she comes in at night and is loves going out in the morning but by 4pm she is waiting at the gate and during the day she is constantly walking around because there is no grass.
Is there anything I can do to stop it? or do you think it's time to move yards to somewhere where I wouldn't even notice the problem?
At old yard she never did it because there was always grass in the field and if not we put hay down or could always use electric fencing so makes me think the easy option would be just to move, any advice would be really helpful

Can you put hay in the field if there is no grass?

We have no grass and the horses were hungry so they wanted to come in, we have now put big round bales of hay out for them to munch on .... happy horses

WE are not allowed to do anything; no electric fencing, no hay.
Was thinking of moving anyway so maybe this is the right way to go?

I would move...maybe to a yard with better fencing, some flexibility and good grazing. Maybe ask when looking around what time all the horses are usually brought in at. I am at a yard where they bring it at 4.30pm. I don't finish work till 5.30pm so I have to pay for someone to bring him in when the other horses come in.

Cappy is too lazy to jump them so just takes the whole gate off its hinges!

Do you take her back to the field after she has jumped out? I certainly would take her back and ensure she stays there, just to show she can't have her own way. However, if there is not enough food I would put some hay out for her.
