The purpose of draw reins is to show the horse the way .
I have been lucky enough to watch world class riders jumping in draw reins , and it's was safe and constructive
I don't jump with them myself.
I will use them very occasionally if I feel the need .

Draw reins have a place in schooling on the flat, and I have watched them used successfully by some very good riders jumping. However, in the hands of the person I saw using them going clear round xc the have no place.

Have seen some very good riders (Olympic riders) jump in them, with no negative consequences, however both riders I have seen warm up for BS show jumping probably were some of the most stylish riders on the circuit.
