Had my 3rd jumping lesson last night at area trainers. First time outside. She is just so green and needs confidence. My instructor things I am riding 100 times better with quiet hands, seat and keeping my legs wrapped around and when she does stop it is a genuine OMG. We give her a little tap and then come round, keep her forward and pop her over it. We need lots of confidence building and she feels that I should not plan any shows yet but to do lots of schooling, XC schooling, hire SJ courses, go on sponsored rides etc. Once she is confident she thinks we will be out competing and doing very well at BSJA and she has a lovely style jump

do you give her lots of vocal encouragement? my boy won't jump unless I'm telling him 'go on, go on' it's very odd!

Lily is like this too, Majority of the time she listens to me vocally rather than using my legs
