Hiya, I'm puzzled with how to land when jumping.
I've read books, taken lessons, watched videos. But nothing can actually change me.
I read that you should naturally follow the horses motion and you don't fold. If I don't fold, I will get launched.
And I tend to have a defensive way of landing. I lean right back and slip my riens. Like people do for drop fences out Xc. Yet I'm talking a 1 meter showjump. I fell off around a year ago jumping 90cm, as I didn't sit up quick enough on landing, ever sinse I've had a Xc position on landing.
I've fallen off many times, worse than that, but it just feels safer that way.
I'll post a picture of my landing position, the jump in the picture was around 105cm, which as you can see the horse thinks is easy 😅. He thought he'd retired when i was jumping 30cm, he's really taken a live for jumping now I've got more confidence.
I can't attach the photo hear, it will be in replys

I think if you’re feeling nervous, the key is to lower the heights until your position is right. You’re riding defensively as you’re worried that something will go wrong, so your brain won’t let you follow the movement. In order to retrain your brain you have to bring it back to a safe space - no point jumping a metre if you're not doing 80cm properly!! No shame in dropping to 60 until you’re happy

Thanks I can jump up a 80 well, anything higher is when my landing is defensive. Hoping to jump today so I'm going to really work on relaxing and not leaning back on the way down.
