Jumping or dressage?

Massively tough question, I love jumping but it terrifies me.

Love dressage as I love the work I put in, I feel like I have more influence on his dressage and that it is my achievement with him. With jumping I feel like it is more him than me.

If I had to give up one I would give up jumping.

I go through stages!

I tend to go through a month of a dressage phase and then convert back to jumping and vice versa!

I really enjoy both :) The only thing that has never interested me is XC!

Not sure what I'm better at!

Freddies gal - you sound like me im so indecisive i think its because my horse is actually quite good at both which makes it difficult. I love love love XC but it now terrifies me as my horse fell on top of me so we tend to steer clear of it now :( I enjoy both but truthfully jumping gives me more of an adrenline rush

You cant jump successfully without dressage but the jumping improves muscles for dressage. I couldn't choose it depends more on the horse I'm riding.

I've done SJ for 12 years and started dressage last year. I prefer dressage now, I just love it, but I do both, some days dressage and some jumping. But as igglepop said, you cant jump good if you don't have a certain amount of dressage done, so it has to be done :D

I'm defo a dressage diva and the feeling of all your hard work paying when dressage goes right is great! :p Having said that my mare is ace at jumping and loves it, only thing is I only love it when my blood is up!:D

I used to love jumping but a couple of skull fractures put a stop to it on medical advice. Plus I found it getting harder in my dotage to remember jump off courses ! I took up dressage & love that too. Plus I have a while to learn the test !!;)

Well as pony hates dressage and it scares me so it has to be jumping, which doesnt scare me at all . We do flat work but he doesnt like it so we do most of it out hacking.
