Well, did a bit of jumping with Wings, and after putting two reins on his dutch gag, I felt I had much more control (I know about the lack of ground poles ;) )

Warming up over little jumps:

Then got a bit bigger (was taken by surprise for this one...)

And ended on a double, the second part was a ladder of about 1m:

Any CC is welcome, including his technique and mine an how to improve on any issues, bearing in mind when I first got him, he wouldn't jump a coloured pole. ;)

glad you're having fun! To me, your stirrups look like they could go up a couple of holes, which would mean you would be much more balanced. xx

Yeah, they do need to be shorter, however sometimes when he is a little wobbly and over jumps the jump (like the 2nd last), I feel I am less likely to be thrown upwards/forwards ;)

Agree with the stirrops but looks ok apart from that. Looks like he enjoys his jumping now bless him :) I never bother with ground poles. Lucy still jumps everything :p :D

Stirrups up several holes, which will allow you to get your bum back instead of up and keep your leg in a stronger position. Get your hands / arms off his neck, don't use him for support - if he is trustworthy a great exercise is to jump a grid with your arms out to the side, as it makes darn sure you balance, otherwise you end up on your nose! He's a lovely colour isn't he!

Thanks for that emma69, I know my stirrups need to go up a few holes (I need to get a hole punch...). He is fairly trustworthy, so will try the arms exercise, and as for his colour, he has got even brighter now it is summer, a very very orange horse :D
