I need help!! my trainer says I need to sit up more on landing. I was convinced I was already doing this, which made it hard to correct! until I saw some photos my dad took of me jumping yesterday.

I now see what he means-I am sitting up as I ride away from the fence but on the actual descent, my back is rounded and my hands (and legs) sticking forward. I can only assume this is because my horse is quite long and I'm trying to stay soft with the rein, but surely I should be able to keep my back straight and still avoid jabbing my horse in the mouth?

any tips, visual imagery or training exercises you could share would be massively appreciated.

Think of keeping your back straight and cleaning your saddle with your seat as you land. I think Tim Stockdale refers to it as 'soaking' with the seat.

Depending on your horse/ability etc you could try some small jumps without stirrups (ask your insructor to help). You won't be able to stand up or tilt too far forward!
