Jumping Position

Personally I think this is a more secure and balanced position ;)

I can't remember bum back but someone in CR said about trying to get your belly button to touch the pommel (well, don't actually do it but aim for it) when you fold and I quite like that and it works quite well for me. Although I am still rubbish :o
 
..and from the looks of it I'm guessing it's an American/Canadian pic- OP they're taught to ride in a completely different style to us.

haha. yeah I can't stand the jumping ahead hunter eq that is popular here- it's endemic. it's so silly. It's supposed to look like the horse is such a big round jumper that the rider is being jumped out the tack and the rider has to make this big effort to stay with the horse. Apparently, hunter judges are fooled by this ;)

Reputable trainers don't teach this jumping ahead business though. We're not supposed to be taught this jumping position, but it's a strange trend that caught on years ago and now is commonplace. :rolleyes:
