Hey all, well i went to the BSJA at Blewbury today, and i have to say i will not be going there again!! But at a risk of being defamotory i will say no more!! Rocks jumped well and we got placed 6th and got winnings yay in the british novice.

However, and here is my question....he ballooned every spread!! He's never ever done this before, hes always been a very good little jumper, but he jumped each spread about 2foot over it and kept jumping me out the saddle (i went round half the course with only 1stirrup!) it was like even if i got a perfect stride and nice foward momentum into it, he still stopped on take off and then jumped from a standstill.

Like i said hes never ever done this before. He WAS very very spooked by the arena and it was incredibly dark and dingy so difficult to see, don't know if this did it for him, but it seemed once he'd ballooned 1jump he did them all like that, like he lost a bit of confidence.

It showed how genuine he was because he had plenty of oppurtunities to stop and he didnt, and he cleared them all from a stand still BUT not a very comfortable ride!!!

Any advice?

well done hun, sounds like you had a good time anyways, and it sounds like Rock was very good

well done, and at least he was clearing them! and you got you first winnings so look on the positives. I have seen several including mine get spooky at some parts of the indoor there.
As bbmat says it is worth another trip there, its not all bad there, ok its not quite up to Addingtons standards but prefer to go there than patchetts!!
