Well on Tuesday night I decided to take Carling to Solihull Riding Club for their sumemr qualifiers and they also include Championship of Great Britain (David Broomes Event Centre) qualifiers too.
Carling warmed up fantastic! He was relaxed, working from behind and in an outline, and LISTENING! which he never does when warming up lol. He just wants to jump!
Anyway the first class was the 2ft6. He jumped wicked and we went double clear and came 2nd!
So qualified for Champs of GB and their own championships.
Then it was the 2ft9 and we had 4 faults in the 2nd phase (question relates to this in a minute) and came 4th so qualified for just SRC champs.
Then we did the 3ft. Now bare in mind, we've only done 1 3ft before this last weekend. And Solihull is really bold and bright. We went in and WON!!!
It was a bit lucky because we had 4 faults in the 2nd phase (3ft3 stile ouch!) but there was no double clears cause it was quite a testing course. But we still won and still qualified for SRC champs.
Now the question (sorry this post is so long!)
In the 2ft9, I was given 4 faults. However, the jump I had 'down' was an upright, with 2 poles and a hanging filler at the bottom. Now I only knocked the hanging filler off. Both poles remained on. Now a few people have said to me that because I didn't alter the height of the jump I should have been awarded a double clear and not 4 faults. In which case I would qualify for Champs of GB again. I've rang up SRC and they have taken all my details and are going to find out about it but just wante to know what others opinions on this would be.
Anyway I'll stop now cause I've probably bored everyone
Just soooo pleased with him, especially winning his 2nd ever 3ft, in the horse section btw against 16hh plus. (Carling's only 15hh!)
