Hi all,

I have a wintec Isabel Werth dressage saddle for my 6yr old Hannoverian mare. Fits nicely and she seems happy in it. She's got fairly high and long withers and big paces so needs something with room for her shoulders.

I am thinking of getting a jumping saddle for those occasions where I want to brave it! As I mainly do dressage I don't want to spend a whole load of money on it. Given that I'm happy with the Isabel Werth was thinking of getting another wintec, probably the 500 jumping saddle.

Has anyone got any experience with these saddles, are they any good? Do they fit completely differently to the dressage saddles or is the good fit of the Isabel an indication that the jumping saddle would fit too?

Have already arranged a saddler (one of the few that appear to be recommended in Kent) to come out, but he didn't sound like he had much in the way of second hand jumping saddles! So I was thinking another adjustable eBay purchase might be in order. Then I can just get him to fit/reflock as necessary, providing it'll be a good enough fit.

Thoughts are welcomed, I want to do the best for my horse. Maybe I just need to get a different saddler who has more of a selection of saddles (but possibly a worse reputation!)

Sorry that's long! Can offer a latte to those who get this far! :)

I have a wintec close contact (i am actually selling!). loved this saddle and was my first jumping saddle with my youngster, it is very very comfy for a close contact. mine is with CAIR, and has the adjustable gullet system, and in his time of growing, i had the saddler out to check it, and was advised when to change the gullet.
these saddles are like marmite....you either do or you dont! I LOVED IT and so did my horse! I am only selling as my sponsor got me a nice mono flap and now my boy has had his growth spurts and stopped growing I decided a nice leather one would be fab (i would still keep the wintec though if i was not brought a new one)
