Hello im new here but need help, i have been looking to buy my horse a new jumping saddle. he has a very sensitive back and therefore wondered about the Barry Swain Semiflex or the Mondial, my lad is jumping 120m at the mo but at home is on 130m so i need something that will be balanced.

i havent been able to get anyones view on the semiflex for jumping only dressage! im not really sure i like the felt like pads but i would imaging i can have them leather covered?

i beleive the Mondial is treeless but thats okay i have had an Ansur which my horse jumped the moon in but it was very uncomfortable and i had to use so much padding

Anyones experiances would be wonderful as i really dont know what to do and its a lot of money to gamble

Why don't you get a reputable saddler out who stocks them both and see what fits your horse best as this will influence your decision? Some makes just don't fit some horses!

I havn't tried the Semiflex because no-one stocks them round here, but tried Total saddle solutions and other treeless and treed saddles. However, I can completely recommend a Balance saddle. It's not treeless, but is designed with the horse's comfort and anatomy in mind. It is the only saddle my mare has actually enjoyed being ridden in. It makes a huge difference. I have the Nexus Jump, and it's great. All sorts of styles on www.balanceinternational.com and they're very helpful and knowledgeable. It does use pads, but they stay inplace, unlike some other makes I have tried. Really lovely saddles

Hope this helps and you find the right saddle
