Hiya I want to buy a new jumping saddle for moo as I'm not entirely sure the Pessoa fits her amazingly well and after a lesson the other day I think I need something with a half seat as aposed to my completly flat Pessoa, the problem is I have never bought and had a saddle fitted properly I've always bought second hand, I have a good budget!! And ideally I want a sadler that will fit a saddle to me and my horse and be around to alter and suggest what may help my position! Currently thinking of trying prestige, devoucoux or butet (sorry about spelling) can any one recommend a good saddle, good service? Thanks in advance!

I have the most amazing jump saddle hand made for my girl from allsaddlesolutions.com, highly recommend and great customer service!!

I love my made to measure black country ricochet , I got it made slightly different from normal design and got the block put on the outside, it makes you feel so secure and it very comfy.

Just had one of these completely made to measure for a very awkward to fit horse. At present ALL saddles are the same price,(considerably less than an 'off the peg' premium make) and, as well as the horse fitting, you can choose everything from the type/colour or leather, to the colour of the stitching and welts. In our case, even the tree had to be made for the horse. While we were waiting for the saddle, we were even loaned one for competitions, as the demo saddle fitted better than his own. You have the opportunity for an absolutely individual saddle..............I have seen a grey one, with dusky pink welt, which I thought would look horrific, but I was actually quite surprised :)

Ideal impala pro!

I have never felt more secure in any other saddle
I love it and my horse goes fab in it! Comes with matching girth and stirrup leathers too :D

Prestige Passion, havent ridden in any other prestige but they also look fab!
I did have an albion K2 jump but didnt get on with it. If you can, get the saddler out with numerous brands, shapes & styles, so you can try a few.

Tall son finds thigh fits best in Albion K2 Jump but it is very heavy and his Prestige Paris D is much lighter and fits a lot of horses. I'm a big Prestige fan. The Antares I know of is a lovely saddle as well and very impressed with the second hand pony Pessoa Legacy that we have just bought for junior son's new pony.

Thankyou all for your replies, I am competing at hickstead this week so I will be trying saddles every day!! Fingers crossed I find my perfect saddle here!!!

I would concentrate on asking questions about the saddles you like, and those you hate. You need to find out from the companies what it is you don't like about them, you need to really feel what is right or wrong about them and then find out what causes that. THEN you need to find a great fitter, tell them what you like and don't and then leave them to fit the horse, with something that is also likely to suit you as per your descriptions :D.

You are likely to set your mind in a paritcular saddle that you love at Hickstead - now it will not only feel different on every horse, and on some or even all you might really dislike it, but it also is highly likely, statistically speaking, to not fit your horse.

The best thing you can do is find a really recommended local fitter (ask on here, and concentrate on people who've had jumping saddles fitted) and go with them, no matter their brands.
