Can anyone recommend a jumping saddle for a 5 yo warmblood (currently wide fitting)? Also would be great if you tell me why you like it.
Can't decide between Albion Kontrol, Barnsby Milton, Ideal Grandee, Jaguar, Prestige, Stubben....

Personally I dont think it is possible to recommend any type of saddle as they are such a personal thing, what suits one person will not suit another. Your best bet would be to find a saddler who can bring you a selection of saddles to try, that way you can sit on them all and then make an informed decision. A good saddler will realise you are not going to make a decision in minutes and will want to try many styles before parting with your hard earned money. good luck

totally agree with MrsT. it depends on your length of leg, esp. from hip to knee, on how much security you like... not possible to recommend really. either go to a saddler with good trial facilities and a great range of saddles, or get one to come to you, explaining beforehand that you don't know what you want but definitely want one!
certain makes aren't so good for horse's backs, but i'd better not put which ones on a forum...

Again, totally agree, you need to sit on as many different types as possible. ie do you like big knee rolls, no knee blocks, flat or deeper seats?

personally because im short i find it difficult to ride in any jumping saddles which are completely flat seated and have small blocks (as seems to be the current trend with quite a lot of them) after riding in LOADS of jumping saddles ive found the albion k2 jumping saddle to be perfect for me - medium deep seat and large knee blocks - my short legs can actually be supported!

great for my 4yo too who can throw in some rather large and unbalancing jumps! was more than i was hoping to spend but after trying loads i wasnt 100% with this one was like love at 'first sit' so went for that in the end!

good luck!

I would recommend a WOW because every part of saddle is changeable so as your youngster keeps maturing you can adjust saddle accordingly. Also they allow horse freedom of movement and are sooooooo comfy to sit on. Mut admit Albions are good too.
