Make - Devoucoux
Model - Single flap XC
RRP - lots
Features - Buffalo leather
Reason for choice - um i rode in one on a lucinda green clinic and it made a huge difference to my riding and position that everyone could see, and my mare broke her withers so fitting a saddle is tricky
Best thing - I love it but it only arrived last week, having ridden in them before thought they are very comfy and secure.
Change - the price!!

What mke do you have - Pessoa
What model do you have - Legacy XP3
RRP - ? in region of £1500
Features - AMS panels, changeable gullet, moveable velcro blocks in different sizes
Reason for choice - combines benefits of traditional flock and foam giving close contact yet adjustable. Gullet can be widened as young horse matures.
Best thing about your jumping saddle - It's just bloody gorgeous!!!
Thing you would like to change - if pushed, slightly more panel bearing surface, but thats about it

Make - Antares
Model - Not sure but its lovely (got an ex demo)
RRP about the same as Devoucoux (2000 ish new)
Features - beautifully made just sits me in the right place (sorry rubbish at technical stuff)
Reason for choice - recommended to me and did straight comparison with Devoucoux and liked it better, better fit for me and horse
Best thing - as above just puts me right and brilliantly made, very very comfy.
Thing I would change - probably as above the price!

PS their stirrup leathers are also very lovely

Make - Euroriding
Model - Jade
RRP - not sure nowadays, about £1500 - £1800
features - silicon insert pads on knees and the seat, flexible tree, no seam on seat
best thing - the flexible tree and the silicon, easy to fit to a horse and very soft and comfy
reason for choice - recommended by trainer for softness of seat etc
thing to change - nothing at all
discipline - pure SJ

Make : Equipe
Model : Expression
RRP : £1200 - £1500 ?
Reason for choice : Beasutiful fit, beautiful design, monoflap & feel every movement of the horse under you.

Discipline : Primarily Show Jumping but has won dressage competitions using same saddle.

Make : Prestige
Model : Meredith D
RRP : £1550
Reason for choice : I rode in a Paris D and fell in love with it - held my position beautifully - I didnt move ! so wanted one for my new horse was told couldnt have a paris as he is a rounder warmblood type - the meredith was designed for this !!
Discipline : Show Jumping 1.30m level

Make : Pessoa
Model :Not Sure (had it 10 years)
RRP : £1200 (now)
Reason for choice : Friend of a friend got them was able to get them brand new (out the back door) for half price so got 2 one suede and one all leather !!

Suits my mare as i can move in it more than the prestige !!
Discipline : Show Jumping 1.10m

Make: Barnsby
Model: Xtreem single flap
RRP: £1800
Reason for choice: Very lightweight, Barnsby fit my horse very well, and I feel are designed more for the horse than some other makes of saddle. Love the single flap design. Also helps I got it for a bargain price! But I do love it, and so does my horse who is just alot freer through the shoulders in it as it has very little tree point in comparison to traditional trees.
Discipline: eventing.

What mke do you have - Prestige

What model do you have - Paris D
RRP - About £1500 I think
Features - Lovely soft calf skin, latex panels
Reason for choice - A friend was selling so got it second hand, but tried it out and loved it after riding in an Albion before
Best thing about your jumping saddle - The position it puts you in
Thing you would like to change - It's the tobacco coloured one and it marks very easily!

Whats your discpline: Pure SJ mostly, but also do some unaffiliated ODEs

What mke do you have - Bates
What model do you have - Momentum
RRP - can't remember.... about £1200.
Features - CAIR and moveable blocks.
Reason for choice - the CAIR and the softness of seat. the saddle also suited my shape of horse.
Best thing about your jumping saddle - really comfy!!
Thing you would like to change - that my horse had not thrown it off the gate the other day and scuffed all the cantle!!!

What mke do you have - Butet
What model do you have - XC
RRP - um.. not sure exactly - I think about 2400 pounds though
Features - single flap with blocks
Reason for choice - light, fits both horses, beautifully made, horses go so well in it and Butets keep their value if I have to sell on
Best thing about your jumping saddle - light weight and ultra-comfy, can do the SJ in it as well
Thing you would like to change - I didn't pay full price for mine but obviously they are hideously expensive..

whats your discpline: Eventing

What mke do you have - Prestige
What model do you have - Event
RRP - around £1,200
Features - Latex panels, adjustable tree
Reason for choice - rode in my friends and fell inlove, puts me in a great position, and the adjustable tree means I can have if fully changed when I change horses.
Best thing about your jumping saddle - great leather, comfortable, puts me in a great position.
Thing you would like to change - ermmm non.... I think its a resonable price for a saddle I will keep for a very long time.

whats your discpline: eventing

What mke do you have - Ideal Single flap

What model do you have -3500 Proffessional

RRP - £1200

Features - Only just come out - designed with a very flat seat, wool flocked and small knee rolls.

Reason for choice - Fitted me with my long thighs and the wool flock for horse. A great saddle for the rider and horse.

Best thing about your jumping saddle - The leather is amazing quality, you do not move in it and it is incredibly reasonable considering it looks/feels like an Antares. Horse is pinging in it.

Thing you would like to change - Nothing as I had some adjustments made especially for me.

I event.

What make do you have - Ideal

What model do you have - Springbok

RRP - £950 ish I think - got a deal as I bought two saddles at the same time!

Features - single flap, wool flocked, forward cut with small knee blocks.

Reason for choice - Fitted horse far better than anything other than the Albion Kontrol but was as good a fit as the albion but £500 odd cheaper! Fitted me, kept me in a good position (couldn't ride in the ideal impala at all - lost my lower leg behind me), really nice quality saddle, very comfy.

Best thing about your jumping saddle - Fit for horse and rider, it keeps me v secure whilst fitting him perfectly.

Thing you would like to change - Nothing, I love it.

I event.

What mke do you have - Prestige
What model do you have - Golden Star
RRP - £895
Features - Close contact, square cantle
Reason for choice - My saddler was asked for a 'cheap saddle to use while horse changed shape' and he came up with this nearly new for £650!
Best thing about your jumping saddle - I love it, keeps me in a decent position and its light. Also the fact that flaps don't swamp the horses sides.
Thing you would like to change - I would prefer a brown one but hey!
whats your discpline: Eventing or pure SJ Eventing to Novice, SJ to Newcomers and P2P (in a racing saddle obv!)

What make do you have - Jeffries
What model do you have - Falcon One
RRP - £1200
Features - Moveable knee blocks, square cantle
Reason for choice - Lovely quality, nice and forward cut, fitted well and came in a wide!
Best thing about your jumping saddle - Fantastic leather, looks new after a year, puts the leg in a good position.
Thing you would like to change - Bigger thigh rolls would be nice and maybe a Close Contact version
What's your discpline: Eventing & SJ

What make do you have - Jeffries
What model do you have - Falcon Hawk
RRP - approx £1100
Reason for choice - Superb quality saddle, heard good reports and was also recommended to me by my instructor, defo improves my position.
What's your discpline: Showjumping at the moment, hope to event in near future.

What model do you have - WOW
RRP - £1,595

Features - Changeable headplates, flair panels every section adjustable

Reason for choice -
Main show jumper has a weird girth line which drags back every saddle and holding them in place with a breastplate wasn't solving he problem. Had to get owner of WOW to specially modify this one for him to allow girth to fall back without taking saddle with it

Best thing about your jumping saddle -
It doesn't slip back, adjustable when he gets fat and thin. He likes it! Not entirely sure whether it helps my position, but having ridden in loads of saddles I think improvement will take more than padding on saddles!!
grin.gif

Thing you would like to change -
I think I would like a deeper seat, so may lurk on eBay to get one! (bonus with wow is that you can change it!!!)

Whats your discpline:
Pure SJ, although now have dressage WOW too

What mke do you have - Sorrano
What model do you have - close contact
RRP - no idea bought second hand though looked barely used!
Features - flat seat, big knee pads
Reason for choice - erm... looked like it might fit me and horse
Best thing about your jumping saddle - big knee rolls
Thing you would like to change - rock hard seat! have to have a seat saver for sponsored rides
