Hi all,

Sadly I've been advised that my much loved Prestige jumping saddle doesn't fit my boy. I love the saddle - so comfy & fantastic to jump in, so secure. However, it does not fit him - he has highish withers & 'well sprung' ribs ie a big barrel. He is a TB ex-racehorse, but his back is a different shape to the norm! It seems the only way forward is a made to measure jumping saddle. A friend has recomended the 'Delgrange' saddles as it can be made to measure. Does anyone have any experience of these French saddles?? Anyone have any other suggestions?? I need a secure jumping saddle with good wither clearance & fairly flat pannels at the back to sit on his back.
Any advice would be great....
Thanks!

Oh dear, I have a prestige saddle too for my warmblood and i love it! I wouldn't want to ride in anything else now! I also have a very high withered TB who was so awkward to fit. I got an Albion in the end as they have really good wide panels. Although he was a TB he needed a medium/wide fitting so sounds like he could be the same shape as yours. The Albion fits him really well, although 9 years on his withers are even higher (he's 22 now) and he needs a riser pad for the wither clearance.

Hi, I have a friend who used to have a prestige, for a couple of years, and when she had it looked at, it was obviously not fitting the horse and she bought a delgrange saddle. Her horse is a small TB type. Hope this is of some help.

Many thanks!
I have taken the plunge & gone for a made to measure Delgrange saddle, much to my bank ballance's horror!! Really not helped by the poor Euro exchange rate at the moment!
I tried a demo saddle today & it's amazing the difference to my horse's way of going - he is so much freer partic across his back.
Needed an oxygen cylinder when we came to the price!!
