What are they like for everyday hacking?
I have a dressage saddle for schooling and a GP which just isnt cutting the mustard jumping wise - my knees come right over when i jump and it offers no support.........mare is 16.1 TB narrow/medium fit - thinking of chancing a saddle on ebay......seen a few, a stubben jumping saddle 18" (current are 17" and 17.5" ) which looks quite nice, obv used £200.........is it worth getting and then getting my saddler to look it over??
Can someone help me find a forward cut saddle for under £250 please?
\thanks

I have a jeffries elite jumping saddle that I mainly hack in as it was the only saddle that fitted my mare. I got used to it very quickly and I actually like having the shorter stirrups for when she's being naughty.

I would be careful buying from Ebay. I know a couple of people who were stung as the saddles had broken trees/more damage then they thought. Also an 18" saddle may be too long for your horse's ribcage. It might be better to get a saddler to fit you a new synthetic jumping saddle. Wintec do one (get flock, not CAIR) and so do Thorowgood. :)

I have a barnsby John Whittaker close contact jumping saddle that I do everything in as again it was the only one that fitted my mare its actually really comfy!
