I'm hoping someone here can help me :-)
When I'm jumping my pony at home (she's a arabX chestnut mare) she will jump a 80/90cm jump no bother if it is positioned at the side of the arena so that one side of the jump is open and the other has the railing on the side.
But when I'm jumping a 80/90cm jump with the two sides open (she can go refuse to either side) she will always duck out the side .
I do try to stop as I know its coming ...
I'm just wondering can anyone tell me how to stop her from doing this. She has only started this lately :-/
Please there is no need to suggest maybe its a back problem or anything as such as I have had these checked :-)
Thank you for the help and taken the time to read this :-)

Hmmm, what happens when you approach in trot? Do you have an instructor, a couple of lessons could be very valuable with this kind of issue.

Approaching in trot might be a good idea ! i havent tried that .
I have gone to some lessons to help as she was like this at the begining jumping small jumps. But shes jumping them perfect now. Due to the lack of transport for the next week or two i wont be able to get help from an instructor

have you tried building a grid, which you gradually build up. Get someone to help and if the striding is right you can build the last element of the grid a bit higher. :)

Approach slowly - in trot if it helps - you can put two guide rails on the wings or blocks to help guide her in to start with - then use the two poles as tram lines on the floor to ride btwn just before you take off that will help you ride as straight as poss just prior to the fence.
