Ok so i'm jumping away from home this morning. We used to jump quite a bit bigger till horse got injured and I lost nerve. She's back on form and a total saint so why do I poop myself about it every time? I enjoy the actual round, usually, but I get in such a state right up to the 1st fence. Why?

Yep I was jumping 4ft on my mare quite happily and ready to buy some bigger wings until we approached one at a funny angle and changed her mind half way over. Cue me falling off, landing on my feet but breaking my finger by getting it caught in the reins.

Now I get all silly jumping more than 2ft and it really doesn't help that horse gets her confidence from me so we're having to go back to basics for a while :(

You have my full sympathy, its a frustrating thing to happen.

Update. 75 cm we went double clear and came 4th. And I found my confidence. 85 didn't go so well but we got round and I wasn't scared once we got over 1st fence. Whoever suggested alcohol I would but I have to drive our very old lorry home! All in all very good pony and slightly braver than normal me. :-)
