Hi Everyone,
I have a young warmblood mare who I have had various issues with over the last few months, but have now moved to a dr cooks bitless bridle and she is coming on leaps and bounds (with no leaps or bounds at long last) so I feel that the bit was the root cause of the hideous behaviour..
I have done a fair bit of pole work and popped over small fences, just simple x poles, straight fences and things like small fillers and tyres (I really do mean small - prob about 2ft 6 - 2ft 9)
I would like to start having some lessons, maybe at home, but am prepared to travel her as it will be good practice for future competitions.
I am looking for someone who can help us both progress as a partnership, who wont judge the fact i ride bitless (I am by no means a bitless fanatic or anything as have only been using it a few weeks but I really feel its working well), and who can be kind, calm and patient with us both as we learn.
My confidence is not great jumping, and I have not done much jumping at all in the last few years.
I have had a bad experience in the past with a trainer who I felt was bossy, arrogant and pushed me and my horse further than our ability which resulted in an accident and loss of confidence for me so I need someone who is sympathetic to this,
Do you know of anyone locally who can help? I am quite nervous about finding the right person as I want constructive advice - not a *******ing.
If you can recommend anyone that would be very helpful for me.
Many thanks
