jumping up, help!

hiya, my puppy is a menace for jumping up on strangers, when he does it to me i turn my back on him till he stops, he's therefore stopped jumping up on me so much but when we go out he still tries to jump up on passers by, any tips?

You could either train him to a command "watch me" and use a reward and even introduce a clicker, learn him to watch you when passing someone. Is you heal work spot on deos he pull)
Or check him and walk swiftly on (never stop) he needs to understand passing folk is no big deal and does not mean free rein to jump and get excited, if you stop and make it a big deal he will get the eye contact he seeks and have time to pounce, take the time away and march on by and he wont.
If you stop to talk, use the clicker, ask people to ignore or take their attention away as soon as 2 feet leave the ground.

Recall him and ask him to walk beside you if you see people approaching. Or use a 'dummy' person for training and get them to do what you are doing when you don't want him to jump.
