Put a video as the stills arnt clear enough to bother popping on photobucket.

Decided to see how he was over a bigger fence and with some fluff on his nose as he doesnt concentrate on the fence! Seems to have done the trick and he jumped great. Show next week and will carry on doing our smaller grids now :)

Pointless happy share!

Aww, he looks really honest.

One thing about your schooling vid I have to bring up as its one of my pet hates and that's teaching a flying change over a pole; 99% of the time it teaches a horse to change front legs first as demonstrated in this vid. Don't want to pick on you personally, sorry if it comes across that way but I think there are other better exercises :)

Its fine :) How would you teach them? I have always done it this way but open to new ideas. He is much better changing onto the right rein than the left which is odd as hes not good off my right leg.

:)

Well first I would improve the canter, get him really working his back end, half halts, canter walk canter, canter halt canter transitions, shoulder in, rein back direct to canter etc.

Only then would I move on to changes, simple changes at first while changing the rein and picking the other lead up when getting back to the track. You could also try doing it from leg yield

We have walk to canter, canter to walk ect. We can rein back 8 times out of 10.

Leg yield in walk and a little in trot, better off left leg.

Hes only 5 so we are working on it. All he knew when I got him was forwards and backwards

He's nice isn't he. Please explain the fluff on the nose?

That vid made me realise I have a fab water tray when we are needing one (mahhosive sheep/cattle foot bath looks just like the blue thing in your vid:D)

The foot baths do look similar and would work just as well!

The fluff is because he sometimes throws his head up before a fence, cost us a couple of poles in his first 5 shows, not major but something I want to fix. It seems to help him remain focused and stops him throwing his head so high before a fence :)

I'm not believing you that jumping big is as easy as little! LOL! You both look amazing as always. Should have sent you Abba a couple of years ago. I love the fuzzy things too.
