My cob is now 5 yrs old and recently been brought back into work. She's going very sweetly and just started a bit of schooling work once per week, trot has improved massively, we are still working on our canter which is improving all the time, circles are more like circles and shes so much straighter than she was. Transitions have helped loads, shes really responsive now to my aids. :)
Thinking of introducing some small fences and taking her xc schooling during the summer months as aiming for a very nursery working hunter class in september :)
We have done a few trotting poles and a teeny x pole which she popped no problem, well when i say popped she sort of trotted over it like a raised pole  she seems to be quite careful over the poles.
Am going to introduce more x poles and just build them up as her confidence grows.

Can i hear your positive stories on how you introduced your babies to jumping and how long it took to go from small x poles to say something a bit more substantial - please share :)

Nothing to add but will be keeping a close eye on this!
My 4yo happily walks and trots over poles and raised trotting poles without a second glance. Can't wait to start jumping him under saddle, his face lights up when he's popped a jump on the lunge!

Pole on floor to xpole. I avoid getting horses calm over poles as when you then want a horse to jump a small jump they will step over it with little respect. I will trot in but expect the horse to jump the pole then make a nice canter stride over the jump. Once confident add another small jump one stride after and repeat.
