Jumping

My friends horse used to jump really well - suddenly he has started putting in a short stride or stopping then cat leaping over the jump,nothing bad has happened to him and height etc hasn't changed, she wants me to sort it for her, any ideas?xx

Has she had it's back/teeth/tack checked? I'd start there

Is the horse being overjumped?

he's worrying about the landing, imho... can be a very early sign of leg problems in front, in my unfortunate experience. i'd check his legs very very carefully for heat and swelling, ideally late at night... i've had horses where the only time anything showed up was at the 10pm check, fwiw.
otherwise, back check, teeth check, different saddle, different bit perhaps... i'd try all of those.

A freind of mine had a horse who suddenly started doing this - turns out he had the beginning of navicular syndrome.
