We have a wooded area we can ride in that is about the size of a school. It’s currently blocked off by last winter’s storm debris, but that will be sorted later this week so we can use it again. Previously, we have had jumps that were basically piles of branches. Fine for the older ponies, but with young ones learning I thought I should get something safer.

One of our older ones likes to take the whole thing down on occasion (and fell once as a poly block jump rotated on him) so need sturdy wings that won’t rotate and will let the pole roll off (yet will stand up on slightly uneven ground). Links to ‘how to’ sites/videos would work too, as my husband would make wings if he had instructions.

Recommendations please!

My partner has made a load of really nice jumps at the livery yard where i keep my horse as he works there one day a week. He used to build fences for BE comps when he worked at the riding club so really knows his stuff.

It's imperative any portable jump doesn't cause a rotational fall by moving so his 'wings' are very solid looking and designed so that if a horse hits them the fence won't rotate.
