So the 16yr daughter got asked to compete a young 138 for someone while she can still do ponies - being only 5' & very slim she fits him perfectly. Then I found out that the 128/138 age rules have also been brought in to apply for BN & Discovery classes, so the only classes she could do on him are opens! Hardly seems worth registering him if there are no classes where DC's count for something!

Doesn't seem very fair on the short kids!

A friends daughter also has the same problem with her pony & is wishing she had never registered them.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this being brought in? I can only presume its to do with the new striding ruling but can't see why age would come into it!

That certainly sounds unfair to me, it's also encouraging children to move to a bigger pony when they don't need to, which seems bizarre

That's my thoughts :( I know you see loads of massive kids on 128's doing the 128 classes but why make things this awkward for the slightly older but small kids who just want to get their DC's in?!

It does seem unfair. I can see the logic behind the 128s & 138s but not any logical reason to include bn & discos too.
