Juno turned 5 months old last week, and as I haven't done an update for a while I thought I'd better let you all know how she's getting on and post a few pictures as that's what you really want!

She's a delight to have around, very much a puppy still, she loves her games and chews everything, her adult teeth are almost all through. Her recall is very good, and she's really friendly and submissive with other dogs. She can be nervous of some men, which is strange as she's not had any bad experiences, but generally she loves people.
We took her to Burghley, and were stopped every few paces by people wanting to say hello to her and ask about her. She picked up that the whistle meant a horse was about to go galloping past, after about 3 whistles, she's a smart cookie alright.

She comes to work with me about 3/4 times a week and is ever so good in the office. I can't say we have had any real issues with her as yet, her worst habit is the chewing and that's improved recently.

A few pictures:

What a lovely update. I'm very honoured to have met both Juno and Suzy and they are lovely dogs. I can't believe how well behaved Juno was at Burghley, she was friendly, wagged her tail, was very cuddly and I can can confirm she is growing into those ears.

She is very leggy Sprout, and I hope she grows into those ears!
Thanks LLA, very kind of you to say so, I thought she was remarkably well behaved with all those new people and dogs, I was very pleased with her.

Isn’t she gorgeous! Those ears! We could have had a Merle HHO collie meet up at Burghley. I’m glad I didn’t bring mine in the end as he’s too reactive and I thought it would be too long a day. Did she walk the whole course?

You are doing well having no issues...must have sounder genetics or a better owner than my car reactive dog!

BBP, there were a few merles there, we saw one that had almost identical markings to Juno, she was a year old. I think we've been very lucky with her, she was bred specifically to be calm, but we do try to make every new experience a positive one and I think it helps having a sensible older dog, as she looks up to her and follows her lead a lot of the time. You're doing really well with your boy, and you will get there with him I'm sure.
Bonny, thank you, we think she's lovely but we are biased of course.

Love the first photo legs & ears. It was lovely to see all the dogs in the flesh that we follow on the morning thread they were all very well behaved.

Great update and photos JB, so glad everything going well. It was nice to meet her. I have taken my young dogs from a year old and found it a great training ground. There are so many dogs and people that they don’t try to talk to everyone.
Sonnet was so chilled at an ordinary Horse Trials on Sunday after the hubbub of Burghley. She has learnt a lot.

Thank you all for your kind words :)
Shady, her eyes are more hazel than amber but with a blue ring around the edge, apparently merles can have 2 different colours in one eye which I never knew before. This is one of my favourite pics of her which show her eyes well, and if you look carefully you can just see the blue ring:

They are fantastic JB, I imagine they will continue to change as she matures?
My first Weim had bright blue eyes when a puppy but they changed to wolf yellow with a blueish ring as he aged, they never went amber but the colour he had unnerved everybody who didn't know him. My new one started with grey eyes and they are now aqua with a grey ring, very , very weird and probably totally wrong but i like them!!!!
xx

Annette4, the different breeds all have their little quirks don't they :D one of my good friends has a whippet, he's lovely but she's had to learn how to kill a rabbit quickly for when the whippet gets bored of playing with his new toy!
Shady can we see any photos of your weimys' eyes, they sound fascinating. I don't know if her eyes will change, they've been pretty much the same since we got her.
MuddyTB, thanks, we think so!
Elle oh bless you for saying she's well behaved, she's been very easy and I think we've been really lucky with her.

Lol JB, i can't tell you how many times iv'e tried to get some decent photo's of N but the thing about Weims is that unless they are asleep they are never really still!!! i will keep trying as he has turned into a beautiful sleekly muscled dog now but most of the ones i have seem to be of his arse disappearing over the hills. If i do give him a command to do something he tends to squint or go beedy eyed with concentration. I need to corner him when it's feeding time, this is about the only other moment he stops for five minutes!( there might be drool tho!!) xx
