Not slacking multitasking
So the other week as we were nearing our year with no shoes anniversary I put up some before and after pics of the changes in Frank's feet and told you all about how he was schooling, going to the beach and popping the odd log etc.
Well today we went here:
Which more specifically is the Quantock hills
, having seen the various vids on exmoor that Nic has of them tottling along stony tracks quite happily I didn't truly believe we would ever quite manage paths like that and I was fully prepared to put his front boots on for the tracks like this (thinking it would be nice enough just to manage that). Well he surpassed all expectations and was very much bare along here, and enjoyed his canters along the bits that looked a bit like this
one or two a bit too much (although racing and anglo arab is still never going to work
especially when welshie legs used to the Somerset levels (ie flat) get a bit tired about half way up the hill - he does that pony of thing of wahaying for the first 50 m then going sheesh this is hard work now.. )
I did boot up to go down the forest track on the way home although suspect he may have been ok if I'd walked the few hundred meters that were bad (ie solid track with lots of sharp stone on top) but if that's all we have to do I'm
.
Just though that his tale might give anyone struggling with the earlier (high worry in my case!) stages some hope
