Went for a hack this evening
All by myself!
Twas very slow and relaxing, and Jayjay loved it! He wanted to trot most of the time, but the bridleway was muddy and I didn't want to trot on the road as he isn't shod. It was his first time out, and he seemed much better for it. He had a good chat to all the ponies we passed, and was very lively, considering his... Weight problems!
Got dark all of a sudden though, and as I didn't have any proper reflective stuff, we had to turn back. He got a bit freaked out about a cow, but I let him go over and look at it and he was fine after that.
He's perked up quite a lot recently
Now I just can't wait to get my own horsie! It's so difficult, though, as I'm not very strong, and small and skinny for my age, but I've got to get a horse that can carry my dad on occasions, too
It's quite depressing really, this horse hunting buisness. Jayjay is really all of ours, but my little sister seems to be sure that he's hers, and my parents agree ._.
I love cobs, but they're generally too strong for me. A 15hh gelding, built like Troy would be good, but they're hard to come across! Here's Troy:
I wouldn't mind something smaller and lighter, but I can't. My sister is sharing one with my mum. I know I should share with her, because we're similar in size, but she's completely unbearable (my sister, that is) and has a completely different taste in horses. I definately do want my dad to be able to ride too, 'cos I love him, and I think he feels a bit lonely with us up at the yard all the time. He's quite a good rider, but not light!
