I'd like to get just a little more condition on my pony. He has been on conditioning cubes, chop and oil for the last 3 months and is the same weight. He dropped off at the end of winter when it was very wet and there wasn't alot of grass and I just haven't managed to get it back. He had his teeth done 3 months ago and has been wormed and worm count etc so it shouldn't be any health issue.

Currently he is on alfa oil, oil and a conditioning cube with some balancer (all at correct weight for weight gain).

I was thinking of either trying the saracen show pencil which has equijewel in it or I was told about the spillers slow release energy which isn't supposed to heat them up (was told by a nutritionist that conditioning cubes can make them hot (even the cool ones) so they burn it off being more active in the field)...

I don't want anything that will heat him up but would just like a little more condition. Anyone got any wonder advice?

You don't say anything about his age, height, type, how he's kept (out 24/7 or stabled with no/limited access to grazing etc) the work he's expected to do, your ability and all of those will help with the advice given.
Without a doubt, grass is the best for putting on weight but could be difficult if he's prone to laminitis; see our dilemma, far more details needed I'm afraid before we can help.
