the stallion my mare is in foal to for 2010 has just been cut, as he was a handful as a stallion and he wouldnt cover in-hand.

someone mentioned to me, the foal now might be worth a little more now hes been cut?

is this true ?

not that it matters much to me as the chances are high that the foal will be staying with me anyway
 
many people would look at the temperament of the sire as really important factor when breeding or buying a young horse.

you will often hear that such and such a stallions youngstock get branded as 'handfuls' or 'quirky' because of their sire being like that.

It will sometimes make a difference to the value of a foal if the stallion is deceased, but I'm not so sure about him being gelded in this situation.

sorry that probably doesn't help. But if your baby does go on to be a maga star and has a good attitude then I can see him being worth a bit more...
