Just at that age

My mare is being a complete cow bag at the moment. To cut a long story short as soon as you put pressure on her to work she stops wont move an inch, rams you into the fence. All checks done, having lessons and things are improving. She is fine to hack and once she starts working gives the loveliest shape

She is 7/8 yrs old and someone said it could be her age; she has turned into a stroppy teenager

Anyone else had this kind of behaviour at this age?

Yup. My 7 yr old tb is being a brat at the moment.
He had a major tantrum, completely threw his toys out of the pram last wk because I dared to ask him to work in the rain.
Back checked, saddle fitted, teeth fixed, new bit, RI came out to ride him and said its pure temper, hes being opinionated.
Bad luck for him, I'm also bratty and opinionated ! LOL
