A lovely picture of Otto from the other day.
This is what happens when you take a partly trained, gun-obsessed Spinger for a walk when they are shooting nearby....

He stayed ridiculously close, stopped on the whistle everytime and was hunting even harder than normal!
Methinks someone knows what bangs mean

We have also started employing Ravenwood's chicken tip as although his recall is pretty good these days, he isn't perfect or completely focussed - a leaf falling in the distance can distract him and off he goes - and, bloody nora does it work!!

And just to prove how relaxed Spangle can be...

He's not quite as bad as he used to be, but his eyesight is far too sharp for his own good!
He scares the crap out himself sometimes. He'll be snuffling away and a branch will flutter in the corner of his sight, he shoots upwards and backwards so fast, it's hilarious!

Otto's wasn't hot, however it was all the gooey fatty bits and soggy skin leftover from our roat the night before, Otto seem to think it was more than acceptable

He's not so lovely when just as you are dropping off to sleep you hear the underwear drawer opening, and switch the light on to find half your socks and pants emptied into his bed

I'd change what drawer I put them in, but he'd just nick jeans/jumpers/tops instead

He is a very handsome boy!
It is good to see that a spangle can chill out too - it's only a week til we get our little springer spangle pup! I am SO excited.

He spends pretty much his entire time inside asleep, he only really gets excited when someone comes in or he knows he's going for a walk.
All our Spaniels have been like that, happy to curl up and spend the day asleep on the sofa, it's when they get outside that they are manic!

So excited for you, we need lots of pictures of her!!

Fabulous pictures. He's such a striking young man. He really is. I'm sure he is more "fleckled" now than he was 6 months or so ago.

His coat seems to change from week to week. Looking at him chest on he does look much more 'fleckled'

but the looking at his back he doesn't look much different, although he does have two big splotches that form a V on his back, which I'm sure weren't there a couple of months ago

He's really lost that gangley puppy look recently, although he still manages to re-create it with startling regularity

I do like how their coats change. Mind you, Harvey is almost black now and I prefer him to not get any darker....fat chance of that!

So I would definately say he's got darker! And he was 15/16 months by that point, so there's no hope for Harvey

Not likely! The last time we went out shooting she curled into a ball, fell asleep and had to be woken to get a retrieve! Admittedley is was a slow day but really!

Interesting he is going darker, neighbours have a cocker pup and her face is definitely going lighter, she used to have an almost black head and now lots of white on it.
