Just been out to check the horses and ...

all I can hear is running water!!!

Get into the field and the trough has burst a pipe and is now shooting water into the sky...........great!

So have phoned hubby to ask where the tap is to turn it off and guess what.........

it's buried under 8 inches of ice in the driveway......... so have been out digging and I can't find it so will be out again when hubby gets home to have another look and try and switch it off.

Next problem will be trying to get a plumber to come out and fix it- what chance have I got before Christmas- I'm thinking none. So it'll be lovely carrying buckets out there for what a fortnight maybe until I can find someone to come out!!!!!!

Oh well I just hope we can get it switched off tonight as we're on a water meter too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been out with a shovel and dug a hole but still can't find the tap so will have to go out again when hubby gets in- apparently he knows where it is!

It's a bit tricky to fill buckets though as it's shooting straight into the air so unless I fancy and icy shower it's not going to happen

AAAHHHHHHH that's very annoying

I came home from the supermarket to find water pouring out from the stable overhang. Pipe had burst in the tackroom and was flooding out. Luckily the tap to turn ours off is in the house! No point getting an emergency plumber anyway as everything's all frozen up again

But I'm putting up with it as I love the snow soooo much

Yes got it switched off after digging mahoosive hole in the driveway at 11pm! Finally found it and switched off ok.

Looks like it's just a little joint that has a hole so hubby thinks he can fix it without having to get a plumber. Fingers crossed!

Horses were a bit bemused by having company in the field at 11pm though. They were a bit like- well you're here now so where's the grub?
