After spending ages trying on crash hats I finally bought the Champion Euro Deluxe skull this evening, only to study it at home and find it's 'only' BSEN1384. I thought all the modern skulls were PAS015? What is the point of a BSEN skull, this is the riding hat standard? The thing is, it looks just as bulky as my old Charles Owen which is PAS015, so are they technically the same but Champoin are just not badging them PAS for some reason? Thinking I might take it back now as I want it for TC/XC/hunting...any thoughts? Thanks

I would take it back and get a PAS015 hat, that is the safest and you are going to be doing the highest risk horse sports.

I have a thought, why did you buy a hat that wasnt classified properly?!

You wont be able to take it back now I wouldnt have thought, our saddlers have a "once its left the shop we dont have it back" rule - otherwise you could have dropped it on the floor 5 mins after and return them a busted hat!

Thanks for the comments. Flamehead, as I said, I thought all modern skulls were PAS015 anyway; never crossed my mind to check- especially a Champion! Also, I have a small/oval head that generally doesn't fit skulls, so I was just chuffed to find one that fitted. I bought it from a reputable store and they said they would take it back if I kept the labels on it.
