Just bought tickets to go see Monty Roberts the man himself! :D

Definitely go, in his own way he has been one of the most influential people of his generation on horse care and this really must be one of the last opportunities to see him, so definitely make the effort to see him.

What did I gain from seeing Monty, 2 things

1) Whatever happens he is very calm around horses, always gives them calm vibes, no shouting, or power matches!!
2) He is always making the horse back up a few steps, continuously. I have used this on a stressy mare and it really does help.

Let us know what you think!

At 77 years of age, not sure how many more years he will do these tours for. So if anybody would like to see him I would suggest trying to see him as soon as you can!!

Quite an extensive tour this time.

September 22nd : South Staffordshire College, Staffordshire
September 24th : Brook Farm Training Centre, Essex
September 29th : Arena UK, Lincolnshire
October 1st : Gleneagles E.C., Perthshire
October 3rd : Greenlands E.C., Cumbria
October 15th : Hadlow College, Kent
October 21st : Beverley, Hull
October 23rd Afternoon Demo! : Myerscough College, Lancashire
November 2nd : The Grange E.C., Devon
November 4th : Hartpury College, Gloucester

I saw him last year when he was on his European tour.

He also took time out to chat to me personally about how I came to be here in Germany and not in UK!! I think he was a bit relieved to be able to talk to someone without having an interpreter intervene!

Lovely, quiet, sympathetic man. An absolute legend in his own lifetime - for all the right reasons! :D

i have seen him twice now and was impressed both times, like others have said always staying calm and understanding. He always seems to have time to talk to everyone aswell. Really worth going to. Hope you all enjoy!

I did a dissertation in my first year of my FdSc and found out some things that made me cringe a bit! However if I got the chance to see him (free!!haha!) I might, just to see what he had to say :)

I think he came from a very different time and place and like everyone, especially with horses, understanding evolves. Very few of us are lucky enough to be born perfect and all knowing!

I'll be at all the demos, checking the horses physically and feeding back to Monty anything relevant on that front, and offering membership of the Intelligent Horsemanship Association. Hubby Simon will be filming all the demos and selling his gorgeous pics (Into The Lens). Come and say hi if you get a chance!

I've only seen videos of him sadly and hes at Hartpury the same day Im at a concert I already have tickets for. I've always been impressed at the way he always seems relaxed around a horse (even if he isn't he hides it well) and the way he's so calm around them. I'd love to have even half of his ability!

Saw him last year. Enjoyed it, but do be prepared for the hard sell on his 'Uoooniversity' DVDs, books etc.

yes but not as bad as it used to be. years ago at Solihull he basically said if you didn't buy all his stuff you didn't care for your horse :( glad he has stopped doing that!!!

Like everything else in this world, you take from it what you want and need and disregard what you don't!!!

I will no doubt go to Rodbaston one again as I am on site and it is a good social night :D

I have seen him many times and saw him again a few weeks ago, watched the selection process first

Always so willing to chat to anyone and adds a touch of humour along the way.

A few years ago he did seem to be really pushing his own products, but not so over the top with it now :D

Unfortunately he is not looking so well as he was, he has lost a lot of weight and for the first time seems to be showing his age.

We're hopefully going to the Hartpury one, my friend has filled in the form for her two ponies to be used in the demo.

OOPs - that reminds me, I need to buy my ticket.

Whether you agree 100% or not with him, he is a living legend and I'm not missing the chance to see him again.

What DID ruin things for me when I saw him before was the rude, know it all, ignorant, tutters in the audience. So if I am sat next to you - I DON'T CARE how you feel about the demo. Keep your mouth shut, stop muttering or spouting.

I went a couple of years back and to be honest wasn't impressed at all, i had had my horse accepted to be used in the show but had to withdraw him at the last minute due to injury and after being at the show was glad I never took him.

Just my opinon but found it very dissapointing with the use of gadgets which I wasn't expecting.

Hope you enjoy it though.
