i have been working at a sport horse stud for the season that will come to an end around august september time. I have previously worked at thoroughbred studs and a small animal vet referral practice. have done the brs racing secretary course and would like to get back into the thoroughbred work especially on the admin side. struggling to find work at the moment, either not looking for anybody or not experienced enough for them. been looking at australia and had a more positive repsonse from there but dont know if i can go that far and have it all go wrong like ive had with a different job. Would like to stay in east anglia and doing all the normal things yard and groom etc, local papers writing to studs etc. short of smashing my head against a brick wall i dont know what else to do as would like to have long term job aswell

My mate went to OZ to work in May. so far gone from a size 20 to a 12 and is having the time of her life.. GO FOR IT. dont end up regretting it.

Can't really advise you except to say that my son left east anglia for australia last autumn and is absolutely loving it! OK he doesn't work with horses, and all I know is that if you want to do ranch work you have to undertake a short course for insurance purposes, but there seem to be an awful lot of young people out there having a really great time, makes me wish I was a few years younger! Good luck whatever you decide.

Take a leap of faith and go. I lived in Australia from the ages 9-14 and loved every minute, parents brought us home. I have family over in Perth and Melbourne.
