As the title says really. My horses name is Wesley... he is dutch and in his dutch passport his name is listed as 'Wessel' which somewhere down the line has obviously been translated to Wesley. I plan to get him a UK passport at some point so I will probably change 'Wessel' if I can???

I welcome any ideas of a 'posh' name I could have for him... although I don't think I will ever end up at any shows etc but I would like to give him a nice stable name :)

Here is a couple of pics to influence you!

Mines is my user name, ex-racer so couldn't change it. Try googling it though - you get all sorts of 'grown up' sites

Stable name - Tilly, shortened to Taliban-Tilly, Tilly 3-shoes etc etc etc

Not sure how Millie became Millie, guess it was just a name we liked when we bought her as a foal. Her posh name is Blackhill amber which my mum choose, blackhill prefix and I guess amber because she is amber :p

Charlie's posh name is Black Country Lad (pure coincidence that they both start with 'black'), which is his racing name/on his passport. I choose Charlie for him as it seemed to suit, his old stable name was 'that one' according to his trainer :p :D

Pixie I name Pixie just because I liked it, although after registering her as Black Mountain Breeze (wanted to carry the 'black' theme on  ) I did think Breezy may be a better stable name for her but Pixie just stuck.

I like all 3 of mines passport names, they mean something and best of all they are easy to read/say :D :D

Phil's is Hydehouse Prince of Darkness. I don't really like the Prince of Darkness bit, but if he had been named that as a foal I would have had his stable name as Ozzy, for definite! Not sure what registered name I'd give him if I had to chose, lucky I don't really :D

The tank's show name is Treascons Golden Prince and his stable name is prince and his nickname is Tank because he is like a tank!!
Treascons is his prefix and his sire is Prince of thieves and he's dun so that's probably the reason why!

my boys is hell's bell's. the reason behind is is that i took out a loan to buy him before i got married. 5 days after we got married my other halfs mum died. he recieved some inheritance and paid off my loan. his mums nickname was hell's bell's so thought it was a fitting tribute plus he is a bright chestnut! x

Shadow's is Llantrisant Magician

I called him Shadow, because when I got him he would just follow anyone around like he was their shadow! It's become more apparent as he's gotten older that the 'Magician' part of his name is also quite apt!! At previous yard he would let himself out of his stable and did once escape from the tie up and go galloping up the field. At current yard the trend of untying himself has become far more frequent!! He can untie a rope in seconds (even with five loops and a knot!), luckily he's right outside the window so I can see & hear him!!

Ivor is an ex-racer (Ivor Novello) so his was all chosen for him. My Mum's horse is called Jack, and on the first night we had him he jumped over the paddock gate and roamed his new surroundngs until the YO caught him in the dead of night. So we called him Houdini's Secret-and since that day on he has lived up to it escaping from stables, fields, tied up, wagons, trailers...

Bella's show name is Kilgainy Lass. She's Irish and the guy who had her over there has her mum who is also 'Kilgainy' so it's just 'cause of her breeding I think. And Bella means Beautiful, and in my opinion she lives up to that, her breeders obviously thought that too! :)

RF - do you want it to be in Dutch or English?

Does he have any particular traits or characteristics?

My horse is called The Dizzy Blonde, because she's blonde (mane and tail) and spins and makes me dizzy :D. She's called Dizz or Dizzy for short :D

Cally's show name is 'Tengo No Dinero' it means 'I've got no money' in Spanish! My dad came up with it to annoy all the people at my previous yard because they all pretended they had tons of money! Plus it sounds quite nice if you don't know what it means! hehe.

Saff is Sapphire Surprise, I personally don't like it but her breeder named her so I don't really want to change it!

Diamond is just 'Big Diamond' I think the 'big' is because he looks just like Big Ben!

Brandy is just Brandy!

Mrs Mozart - I don't really mind as long as it pronounceable!! :p

Well we're still getting to know each other at the moment, but he is a real sweetie, follows you around the field like a dog (unless you feed him first!) and the other day I caught him sticking his tongue out, twisting his ears and practically rolling his eyes! He looked ridiculous lol!

I had a little coblet called Ludo for a while. I gave him the show name Impulsive Purchase....:D I also had a dark bay cob mare called Cherry and a friend of mine came up with a show name of Morello Noir for her which I thought was really fab and inventive.

The ones I have named are Silver's Willow (gingerknobbermare) Silver's Poppaea (black pony or Poppy) & Sylvias Rainbow Haze (Hazel) Sylvias as wasn't allowed Silvers as a prefix :(

If black ponys wee one survives it will have the 'Sylvias' prefix
but will have a Rainbow in it somewhere!!
