Just found interesting site -Breed history

You can look up your horses parentage and as long as you know both sides you can add yours on there, from that goto photo gallery and it will show any photo's they have on record of the breed lines.

I found out today and have done 3 pages of pictures of his sire - great great great grand sire he he found out he's got a background of R.W. consecutive winners, ponies that have represented WPCS. I am very proud, although boomer's not done any showing his time as far as I know. Fab site

I have been using that site for many years now, it's amazing how far back you can trace some horses.

I was really disappointed as I couldn't trace the ponies which I bred and they were all registered with their breed society.
Even the Thoroughbreds which we had out of racing weren't listed.

Thats because you have to add them. The site doesn't get automatic downloads from breed societies it is up to owners to add their own horses.

I knew dam/sire / grandparents of my ex-racer so looked for further history and when I entered his name it gave me totally different lineage and the wrong year of birth. However, put his sire in and that came up correct.

Anyone else found this?

It can be a problem with horses having the same name. I think it is a great site. If I find out anything new, or a photo then I update my horses pedigrees. It is only as good as the data input which is down so some human bothering to do this. On the other hand I have read on the forum that some people find it funny to alter info.
