Just getting somewhere then back to square 1

I lost a lot of confidence in riding/jumping but after regaining it by having some lessons from a fantastic coach I was getting out and doing some shows and jumping courses - only 2'6 at shows but doing 3ft at home, I was really proud of myself as I would only do 2ft a few months ago,

Anyway went on holidays for 2 weeks. went riding out there as I was missing it so much, came back home couldnt wait to get back into the saddle and resume my weekly lessons,

My yard owner was taking his stallion to a show and asked me to plait him up for him, while doing so he proceded to jump on my foot whilts I was stood on steps to be able to reach him,(dont ask how he managed it i really dont know) I think he was trying to do a seal impression and stand on the step with me)
the pain was instant anyway after a trip to casualty and a 5 hour wait I have 2 fractured toes.
Im soo gutted as I cant ride now for a while and I know I will be back to square one if I have too much time off with my jumping

anybody else had broken toes and how long were you out of action for?

One good thing is I didnt want to go back to work after my holiday so got out of that for a while lol

HI, Sorry to hear about your accident, I would say about 4-6 weeks to heal but it depends on the fractures. Have the hospital given you a moulded insole for your shoe (providing you can get it on) as they will support underneath the arch and make it a bit more comfortable, hope they heal soon

I know exactly how you feel! I didn't break any toes but I have just recovered from dislocating my knee and I tore ligaments around it. I was gutted too and spent a whole night crying because I couldn't ride. I was on crutches for three weeks and then trying to walk for another week but eventually I told myself to get back on my horse. I finally managed it but had to take it slow. I was determined though and I'm sure you are too. You'll get there eventually! Good luck

no they didnt give me anything just taped it up, they did mention something about a boot thing but i didnt get it, got an appointment next week so will see what they say then,
