Well, i got a phonecall for my pony who was for sale 4/5 months ago and she hasnt been advertised since. It just totally baffled me and i was a bit like um which one as i was selling them for uni but didnt :p So i said the 13.2hh he replied yes, the weird thing being he asked no questions asked where i lived didnt tell me where he was coming from or anything which all seemed a bit odd i gave him my postcode/where i live and he said he would call back as he asked to come see her sunday and dont know when im working next week, he wouldnt give me his number. I just thought this a bit odd anyone else think that????

maybe he just wanted to see how far away ffrom you he was incase you were REALLY far away and it'd be a waste of time :?
but that's being optimistic because yes it does sound odd.

Oh dear you shouldn't really give your address to anyone unless you actually have to...and in this case it sounds a bit odd..?

Surely, if he's coming to see her horse, he'll need the address, unless he's psychic of course .

Don't worry OP, you can't change what's happened, so there is little point worrying about it. He could be entirely genuine.

I only thought about it after id given him the postcode, but didnt give my house number as by that time it just did seem a bit odd. One thing though, he asked if i was a dealer ?? even weirder luckily my horses arent kept at home and the field they are in is very secure. I want him to phone back now to put my mind at rest. As for the number im not sure as it dosnt show on the phone :S now im a tad worried and not really sure as what to do

But dont you think he would even ask a single question about her??

Some people hate phones and keep conversation to a minimum.
I guess if she's in his price range and he's not too far away, he thinks it's worth taking a punt on her and coming to see her.

Honestly, I'm sure it'll be fine :).

I agree with some of the earlier posts - try not to worry too much. You get all sorts of odd enquiries and sometimes the odd weirdo too when you advertise something & make your tel no public.

We built and sold 3.5t horseboxes for a couple of years (up until the market ran out of steam & everyone needed their money to pay for hay instead that is!!!) During this time I had a seriously weird and abusive phone call approx 4 months after we'd advertised a lorry. The weirdo asked me fairly plausible Q's but my nutter radar went off when he repeatedly answered me by saying, "yes MADAM", "no MADAM" (-!) I heard a womans voice in the background too so was slightly surprised when he suddenly turned really filthy and abusive.....(you probably get the gist!) I thought he needed to talk to himself at that point so without saying a single word, I quietly laid the phone down on the table and walked off.

If as you say, your horses are nice and secure - no sweat, he probably is at the other end of the country & was just putting out some feelers. x
