.....I sent photos and a short letter to the 2 previous owners of our highland (previous to the lady we bought him off)..

.....and one of them has just texted me to say how much it means to her to know he's fine and happy and we are going to speak at the weekend. I know nothing about my older lad, so I really wanted to try and find out about Toby whilst he is still young and I had current contacts for his old owners.

If you are thinking about getting in touch with old owners in your horses passports....do it, this lady is over the moon ...and I get to find out out about my pony

I am my ponies 3rd owner. The middle owner didn't change the passport into her name as shebough her to break and sell on.

I sent the form off to original owner and included my phone number as I wanted to know her history as she came from Romania.

I now get begging texts off this woman asking me to sell/loan her to her

. I think it's a little late to start caring, she sold her to a woman 100+ miles away she didn't know and sent her up on a transporter, didn't even see where she'd sent her.
 
I'd quite like to find out about my pony, although I have a video of the girl who had him when he was about 4/5 and she BSJA'd him. Think she may have been his first owner and I'd like to know if he was neurotic back then or it's the homes he had before I got him 15 years ago aged 8 that screwed him up! Lol
 
I tried that with mine, as I had to get them to sign the change of ownership form on his passport (the lady i bought him from got him at a sale). Sent a nice letter saying he was in a loving permanent home and just wondering about his history, gave them all contact numbers, email and address but they never got back to me, just sent the change of owner form back signed

I dont understand why people don't want to give info out.......a lady contacted me about a pony we once owned...she happened to have the pony at a riding school which horrified me because although the pony was a cracker to ride she was very mareish and a bit flighty with her back end.....I rang her and told her to make sure the kids were kept away from her back end as she was a bit fly with her legs with no warning and obviously she was very grateful for the info.....its not like you're asking for a kidney or anything, just 5 mins of someones time......

Hmm, maybe I should try find out more about my pony... I think I know a fair bit though but I would like to know where he went from the girl we have riding him in the video as I believe he then ended up at a sale/dealers or something and was in very poor condition. I'd like to know what went wrong and what happened for him to end up there.

So, if anyone knows a Emma Yates form (I think) somewhere near wales or a pony called Cybi (pronounced cubby) Lad /Chancer let me know!
